TKEthics Global Olympiad

Empowering Future Leaders in AI Ethics

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence raises numerous ethical questions. The TKEthics Global Olympiad blends competition with collaboration, providing a platform for students to explore these ethical issues. Students engage with contemporary technological cases at the forefront of moral and political debates, while examining normative ethical theories from various philosophical traditions. They also have the unique opportunity to learn from accomplished philosophers who serve as judges, participating in discourse, answering questions, and receiving feedback after each round.
Unlike traditional debate tournaments, this event encourages students to advocate for beliefs they genuinely hold, fostering collaboration rather than adversarial debate. Teams work together to build on each other’s ideas, striving to reach the most ethically sound conclusion.

Event Format

This is an online event, allowing regional and remote teams to easily participate. All teams from across the world can engage in this competition, promoting global interaction.

Ethical Cases & Information Kits

Once registration is confirmed, ethical cases and detailed information kits for both coaches and students will be provided.

Judging Panel

Judges are experienced debate coaches and experts holding degrees in philosophy. They will provide professional evaluations and feedback on your team’s performance.

Registration Fees

  • Early Bird Registration: $240 (teams of 3-5)

  • Regular Registration: $300 (teams of 3-5)

Awards

All participants will receive a certificate of participation. The top middle school team (students in Grades 6-9) will receive the top middle school performance award. A separate prize category will be available for teams from non-English-speaking (ESL) schools. There will also be an open category for additional prize opportunities. Top-performing teams will be invited to the finals, with the date and location to be determined.

Refund Policy

Payments are required upon registration to secure your spot. Invoices for individual team members are not available. If the event is canceled, schools/teams can opt for a full refund or transfer to the next Ethics Olympiad. Refunds (minus a 10% administration fee) are available up to two months before the event. No refunds will be issued after that point, due to prior event costs.
